FAQ > Data Entry On The Worksheet
How do I not show Late fee collected from tenant, on the Owner Report.
To exclude collected late fees from the Owner Report in SimplifyEm.com Property Management Software, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the “Owners” page by clicking the ‘Owners’ tab at the top of the page.
- Find the specific owner (in this example, Jane). Hover over the ‘Take Actions’ button next to the owner’s name and select “Edit Owner Details.”
- In the owner details, check the box labeled “Do not show Late Fee collection in owner report,” and then click Save. This ensures that late fees collected won’t appear on the Owner Report.
- When a late fee is collected, go to the Property Worksheet and create the late fee entry. For instance, if tenant Sam’s rent is $1,000 and there’s a $50 late fee, and Sam pays a total of $1,050 for February, allocate the $1,000 to rent and $50 to the late fee.
- Once you save this transaction, an expense labeled “Late fee not visible to Owner” will automatically appear in the Expense section of the worksheet.
- To finalize this, go to the Vendor Center and create a new vendor, such as “PropertyManager-Vendor,” to map this expense. Link this vendor to the “Late fee not visible to Owner” expense.
- As a result, the late fee will no longer be displayed on the Owner Balance History page or in the Owner Reports, keeping it hidden from the owner’s view.
