The origins of SugarOak can be traced to the year 1979. In that year, Dan Baker and his business partner, Doug Cobb, designed, engineered, and constructed a 40,000 square foot office development in Herndon, Virginia. The project, SugarOak Office Retreat, was a trend setting development situated in a wooded environment adjacent to Sugarland Run and a 23 acre park. This initial office project laid the foundation, and provided the name, for the SugarOak companies.
