FAQ > Managing Tenant and Lease Agreement Information
How do I track multiple tenants residing in the same unit?
To track multiple tenants residing in the same unit, follow these simple steps:
1. Go to the Tenants Module on the left and Tenant Center.
2. Select the property.
3. Next to the desired tenant (existing tenant) on the right side click on “Take Actions”.
4. Click on Edit Tenant Info.
5. Now at the bottom of the screen click on “+Add Co-Tenant” (To add multiple tenants click on this button as many times as required).
Now, you’ll have the option to add additional occupants for that unit. This allows you to track all tenants living in the same unit. However, it’s important to note that only one lease will be tracked for the unit, even if multiple tenants are residing there.
Note: The number of active leases you can manage depends on the property type. For instance, in a duplex, you are limited to two active leases—one for each unit. If you need to track tenants within the same unit (such as roommates) under separate leases, you will need to modify the property type settings. By adjusting the property type, you can create multiple leases for the same unit, which allows each tenant to have their own lease. This is especially useful if you want to track roommates or individuals separately while still managing them within the same property.
By configuring your property types accordingly, you can easily track multiple tenants in a single unit and ensure that each lease is accurately recorded and managed.
